Just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, and a handful of other restaurants, is the unique and charming Maddermarket Kitchen. Fine dining but, as we like to see it, fine dining without the stigma of fine dining. It's contemporary, it's informal and more than anything, it's hugely welcoming.
Hidden away on St John Maddermarket, this beautiful old merchant house once played host to giant vats of dye, swelling with the bright red colour of Madder (yes, that is where the name comes from). Now, the building is home to braised ox cheek, superior fish and chips, spicy liver crostini and everything in between. But expect that to change regularly, Maddermarket Kitchen like to keep not only their food fresh, but their menu too, mixing it up every couple of days. They've also recently created the
