I’ve been wanting to write this for yonks, a blog about happy hour in our fine city of Norwich.
Because who wouldn’t want some info on the cheapest time to get tipsy on cocktails ? and maybe some trails!
Cocktails are around £8 – 14 or £6 if you know a special place with the best fried chicken around.
So a fifty won’t get you very far BUT if you knew when the best time was to go out for Cocktails – well you’d get double for your money.
Bubba – White Lion Street, opposite Castle Mall entrance. 1st floor – sorry no disabled access.
Let’s start with the cheapest Cocktails in the city, you’d think they would be cheap in quality as well but that simply is not true – Marianne is a top mixologist working all over Europe and can Mix to your likes too.

Mr Postles Apothecary – bottom of Queen Street, corner of Tombland.
Open – 12 until late Wed to Sat, Sun 12 – 6pm
Happy Hour – Thursday, Friday and Sunday = 2 for £12 all opening times on those days.
Postles also offer 50% off food on a Wednesday making it a cheap date night.
They have a large cocktail menu with all sorts of creations, in the most alcamistic cocktail venue.
All these three bars (below) in the city serve great cocktails and are owned by the same owners.

Pinker and Greener – top floor Castle Mall / Social
Open 7 days a week – until 7pm Mon – Wed, until 8pm on Thur, until 9pm Fridays, 10am on Sat and 6pm on Sundays.
Happy Hour from 4pm everyday until close
2 for £12 cocktails plus 20% off house pours and draughts.
Tipsy Jar – 8 Redwell Street
Open – Tue – Fri 4 – 11.30pm and Saturday 1 – midnight.
Home of the cocktail jars which serve two for an already great price of £12 each jar all the time.
Happy – Apperitif Hour is until 7pm each night, mix and match on 2 spritz cocktails plus half a caraf of prosecco £12
11th and Social –
9 – 11th Upper King Street
Open 7 days a week and the latest Bar opening in the city & perfect for hospitality.
Happy Hour every day from 5 – 8pm all cocktails £8
Arboretum
Benedict’s Street the one with the blacked out front opposite the pub and Corkscrew.
Open Tue – Fri 5 – 10pm and Saturday 12 – 10pm
Have a silver members club where their members can book tables and get 20% off.
But cocktails are and have always been under a tenner, so its always happy hour at Arb.
Barcadia
8 – 12 Prince of Wales Road
Thur & Fri 5pm until late / Sat / Sun 2pm until 1am / 9pm
Before 8pm daily you can get 2 for £12 or two mocktails for £8.
Boston House
2 Orford Street
Open Thur – Saturday 12 – 11pm / Sunday food 12 – 3pm
All cocktails are half price on a Thursday.
Chambers Cocktail Bar
Wensum Street Open Wednesday to Sunday from 4pm.
Wednesday to Saturday happy hour is 4 – 7pm 2 4 £12 on menu cocktails.
Bonds – No 28
27-28 Tombland – open- Thursday to Sunday from midday until midnight / Saturdays 2am
2 for £12 cocktails Fridays 4 – 7pm and Sundays noon until close.
The Surrey
44 – 46 Surrey Street mid week the Surrey closes at 4pm but opened for Breakfast inc Saturdays.
Happy Hour every Friday and Saturday night 2 for £12 open until 10pm
Dicks Bar
4 – 6pm 2 for £10 inc cocktails, beer and wine every day open.

Pinker & greener from 4 – 9pm 2.4.£12
And Tipsy from 4pm jars always £12 served 2
Catch Chambers before 7pm 2.4.£12
Catch Barcadia before 8pm for 2.4.£12 and buy tokens for some fun with arcade machines.
Also catch 11th and social before 8pm to take advantage of £8 cocktails.
Finish off at Boston House / Bubba or Tipsy for cheaper cocktails until late.
Friday :– same as above but include

Also Surrey all night until 10pm
But not inc Boston House (Thursday happy hour only).
